Eddie Vedder 2009 tour Hawaii poster by Volcom

Here is the special Eddie Vedder poster for the shows in Hawaii, designed by Volcom.

UPDATE 7-3
Just been informed by Brad Klausen that he did not do the design for this poster, Volcom did. My apologizes for any confusion.

Official Statement about the status of Expresso Beans- yes it will be back

Although we had hoped that EB's downtime would be very limited (and thus no mention/statement need be made) it appears that we may be down for a bit and not quite sure what the timeline is at the moment.
However, the EB staff would like to make it clear that this is a server/programming issue and NOT something that stems from a financial problem. We are not "down for the count" and have every intent to have the site back up as soon as it can be managed. There is a solid group of people who work to keep the site running - not a single person.
While we don't have a timeline knowing when the site will be back up at this point, we are doing what we can to make it happen as soon as is possible from our end. We know that many people use the site but also please bear in mind that there isn't much we can do beyond where we are. Please try to be patient - if you're going thru withdrawl, breathe and you'll be fine ;)
Hope to see you all back at EB soon...
-Brendan (EB President)

Just passing the message along, I'am in no way connected to the inner workings at Expresso Beans. The photos are also my sense of humor and in no way connected to what happened.

Hajime Sorayama ‘Sexy Robot’ Print

It's been a big week for aritst Hajime Sorayama, with the release of the KAWS No Future Companion figure and now check out this stunning print by him available at Colette. “The spotlight is on cult Japanese artist, Hajime Sorayama this limited edition print, exclusive to colette. In the late 1990’s, Sorayama was approached by the Sony Corporation to design an organic robotic form. It became the famous “AIBO” dog, now in the collection of the MOMA and then Smithsonian Institute of Technology. Intrigued by the effects of light on various metallic surfaces, and always ready for challenges to his technique and imagination, he began to produce a series of female robotic figures in the late 1970’s; anatomically correct in form, but appearing to have been fashioned of molten silver. The term “sexy robot” was coined to describe them.” These prints are 70 x 100 cm and cost €250 each.

Thunderdog Bruiser bike by Tristan Eaton

I know some of you are big time cyclist so I thought you would dig this. Check out this awesome creation from Tristan Eaton of Thunderdog. Designed for battle on the streets of New York City this bike will be on display at the Joy Ride Art Exhibition as part of the Bicycle Film Festival happening at the moment in New York. It's a beautifully put together bike. Stand out features on this brutal cruiser include the brass knuckles on the handlebars as well as the lightning bolt blades attached to the wheels for anyone who gets too close for comfort. The final touch is the armour for the rider. Looks a bit over the top to me but depends how many fights you expect to get into. Personally i'd settle for just the baseball bat and think that would make me on the winning side of most arguments.

New Alex Pardee T-shirt Handful on sale

New Alex Pardee shirt on at Zero Friends $28

The following story by Alex Pardee is printed on the inside of the shirt:

"I went to school with a kid named Tommy Revenge who had an abnormally large right hand. Not just abnormally large for a 12 year old. Plain old abnormally large. He couldn't wear both gloves so his Mom wrapped his huge hand in a towel when it was cold, but the extra weight made him lose balance a lot. One morning we were all playing chicken with the groundskeeper and his ride-on John Deere like we always did, but Tommy's hand must have weighed a lot that day, because he got real close, and then just collapsed to his right, and fell under the lawnmower blades. Ironically, after the lawnmower completely diced him like a carrot, his huge right hand, the last thing to enter the blades, jammed them, destroying the machine. We always said that at least his last name suited him, as Tommy got his "Revenge". Kinda."

About Herbert Baglione:

“The basis of my work is speaking about the coldness and competitiveness present in people. I like to be ironic about individuality and death, and the paths in which to reach or escape these themes.
